Cytokeratin 7 [OV-TL12/30]
Description Cytokeratin 7 (CK7) is a cytoplasmic intermediate filament protein expressed on most ductal and glandular epithelium including lung, breast, bladder and female genital tract, but not in most gastrointerstinal epithelium, prostate, hepatocyte and squamous epithelium. CK7 expression is absent in colon cancer, prostate cancer and squamous carcinomas. The restricted expression of CK7 in some epithelium makes it useful to identify the organ origin of adenocarcinomas when combined with staining of Cytokeratin 20 and other cell specific markers. Cytokeratin 8 [35BH11]
Description Cytokeratin 8 (CK8) is an intermediate filament protein produced early in embryogenesis. It is the only type-II CK occurring in many simple epithelial in respiratory, gastrointestinal, male and female reproductive tract and thyroid. CK8 is often co-expressed with Cytokeratin 18. CK8/18 is the major keratin pair in simple-type epithelia, as found in the liver, pancreas, and intestine. CK8 is used to detect adenocarcinomas with simple epithelium origin. The difference in staining pattern is useful to distinguish duct (peripheral staining) from lobular (perinuclear staining) breast carcinoma. Cytokeratin 18 (CK18) is an intermediate filament phosphoglycoprotein that is expressed in simple and glandular and transitional epithelial cells, but not in stratified epithelial cells. CK18 is often co-expressed with CK8. CK8/18 is the major keratin pair in simple-type epithelia. Adenocarcinomas originated from simple and glandular epithelium showed CK18 positive staining. Cytokeratin Acid [AE1]
Description Each epithelium contains at least one acidic and one basic keratin. Anti-Cytokeratin clone AE1 labels most acidic keratins and stains most epithelia and their neoplasms. The antibody is suited to distinguish poorly differentiated carcinomas from non-epithelial neoplasms. (Shipping Cost: €200.00) Host Mouse Application Flow cytometry (FC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB) Reactivity Human, Monkey, Bovine, Dog (Canine), Rabbit, Mouse, Rat, Chicken, Turtle -

Cytokeratin Basic [AE3]
Description Twenty human keratins are resolved with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis into acidic (pI <5.7) and basic (pI >6.0) subfamilies. The acidic keratins have molecular weights of 56.5, 55, 51, 50, 50’, 48, 46, 45, and 40kDa. The basic keratin s have molecular weights of 65-67, 64, 59, 58, 56 and 52kDa. Members of acidic and basic subfamilies are found together in pairs. The composition of keratin pairs varies with cell type, differentiation status and environment. Many studies have shown the us efulness of keratins as markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis. AE1 labels most acidic keratins; therefore, it is a broadly reactive antibody staining most epithelia and their neoplasms. AE1 is particularly suited to distinguish poorly differentiat ed carcinomas from non-epithelial neoplasms. This marker stains both normal and neoplastic cells of epithelial origin. Cytokeratin Cocktail [AE1&AE3]
Description The antibody cocktail labels simple epithelia and their tumors including cytokeratins expressed in complex stratified squamous epithelia. Positive results aid in the classification of normal and a wide range of neoplastic tissues as epithelial in origin. This antibody serves as first tier antibody for differentiation of undifferentiated neoplasm. Pan Cytokeratin clone AE1/AE3 antibody may be used with a panel of antibodies for differential diagnosis, e.g. Breast vs. lung or liver: CK7, AE1/AE3, CEA, GCDFP-15, TTF-1; Renal vs. lung or liver: AE1/AE3, CEA, TTF-1, Renal Cell Ag; Seminoma vs. lung or liver: CAM5.2, AE1/AE3, PLAP, EMA, CD30; Embryonal germ cell vs. lung or liver: AE1/AE3, TTF-1, CK7, PLAP, CD30.
