STMN1/Stathmin1 [SP49]
Description Stathmin or STMN1 is a ubiquitous cytosolic phosphoprotein proposed to function as an intracellular relay integrating regulatory signals of the cellular environment. The encoded protein is involved in the regulation of the microtubule filament system by destabilizing microtubules. It prevents assembly and promotes disassembly of microtubules. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified. Surfactant/SP-D [MD165R]
Description Pulmonary surfactant is primarily responsible for lowering the surface tension at the air-liquid interface in the alveoli, a process that is essential for normal respiration. Pulmonary surfactant is a mixture of phospholipids and proteins, including four distinct surfactant-associated proteins (SPs): SP-A, SP-B, SP-C, and SP-D. SP-B and SP-C showed strong immunohistochemical expression in Lung Hyperplasias and Adenomas, suggesting that SP-B and SP-C are related to lung tumorigenesis. SP-A and SP-D are large multimeric proteins belonging to the family of calcium-dependent lectins, designated Collectins, which contribute to the innate immune system. SP-D is a protein encoded by the SFTPD gene. Studies found low expression of SF-D expression in lung, gastric, and breast cancers and high expression in different stages and grades of ovarian cancer. SF-D expression could be associated with a favorable prognosis in lung cancer but unfavorable in non-pulmonary sites such as breast, gastric and Host Rabbit Application Flow cytometry (FC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB) Reactivity Human -
Synaptophysin [MD200R] (Neuroendocrine Marker)
Description Synaptophysin is a major integral transmembrane glycoprotein of synaptic vesicles with four transmembrane domains. This protein is present in almost all neurons and neuroendocrine cells throughout the body. An antibody to Synaptophysin is useful for the identification of tumors with neural and neuroendocrine differentiation. Synuclein Alpha [MD23R]
Description Alpha-Synuclein is the major component of Lewy bodies and Lewy neuritis in sporadic Parkinson disease. Alpha-Synuclein is expressed predominantly in the brain, where it is concentrated in presynaptic nerve terminals. The deposition of the abundant presynaptic brain protein alpha-synuclein as fibrillary aggregates in neurons or glial cells is a hallmark lesion in a subset of neurodegenerative disorders. These disorders include Parkinson's disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and multiple system atrophy, collectively referred to as synucleinopathies. Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the progressive accumulation in selected neurons of protein inclusions containing alpha-synuclein and ubiquitin. Tau (4-repeat isoform RD4) [1E1/A6]
Description Tau is a microtubule-associated protein. In adult human brain, 6 tau isoforms are expressed, which are divided into two groups, 3-repeat (3R) and 4-repeat (4R) tau isoforms. Tau assembles into insoluble, filamentous, and hyperphosphorylated inclusions in many neurodegenerative diseases, and different tau isoforms are accumulated in the diseased brains, namely, 6 tau isoforms in AD, 3R tau isoforms in Pick’s disease, and 4R tau isoforms in PSP and CBD. Therfore, isoform-specific tau antibodies are useful tools for immunohistochemical and biochemical studies of tau species in diseased brains. Tau deposited in AD is extensively deamidated at N279. This anti-4R specifically recognizes 4R tau isoforms regardless of deamidation and strongly stained tau in AD brain. Tau Phosphorylated Ser396/p-Tau S396 [EPR2731]
Description Tau is a heterogeneous microtubule-associated protein that promotes and stabilizes microtubule assembly, especially in axons. Six isoforms with different amino-terminal inserts and different numbers of tandem repeats near the carboxy-terminus have been identified, and tau is hyperphosphorylated at approximately 25 sites by ERK, GSK-3 and CDK5. Phosphorylation decreases the ability of tau to bind to microtubules. Neurofibrillary tangles are a major hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease and these tangles are bundles of paired helical filaments composed of hyperphosphorylated tau. In particular, phosphorylation of Ser396 by GSK-3 or CDK5 destabilizes microtubules in Alzheimer’s disease. T-bet/TBX21 [MD40R]
Description T-box transcription factor TBX21, also known as T-bet, is a member of the T-box family of transcription factors. It has been confirmed that TBX21 is the key lineage-defining transcription factor that directs the development Th1 cells and is directly responsible for the transactivation of the interferon-γ (IFN-γ) gene. TBX21 is expressed in CD4+ T lymphocytes in normal tissues. In lymphoid malignancies, TBX21 has been found in a subset of T-cell lymphomas with Th1 T-cell differentiation, a subset of B-cell or T cells, non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, majority of Hodgkin's lymphomas and precursor B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoblastic lymphomas. However, TBX21 is not expressed in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and most cases of anaplastic large cell lymphoma. TBX21 is a useful new marker for Hodgkin's lymphoma. TBX21 is also helpful in identification of hairy cell leukemia (HCL). Ventana/Cell Marque have.
