    C5b9/TCC/MAC [aE11]

Description The complement component proteins: C2, C3, C4 and C5 are potent anaphylatoxins that are released during complement activation. Binding of these proteins to their respective G protein-coupled receptors, C3aR, C1R and C5aR, induces proinflammatory events, such as cellular degranulation, smooth muscle contraction, arachidonic acid metabolism, cytokine release, leukocyte activation and cellular chemotaxis. Activation of the complement system leads to the formation of C5b-9 terminal complex, and while C5b-9 can promote cell lysis, the sublytic assembly of C5b-9 on plasma membranes causes an opposite result and induces cell cycle activation and survival. C5b-9 can rescue oligodendrocytes from FAS-mediated apoptosis by regulating caspase-8 processing via PI 3-K signaling. C5b-9 may play a pro-inflammatory role in the acute phase of multiple sclerosis, but may also be neuroprotective during the chronic phase of the disease. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    Carbonic Anhydrase IX/CA IX [CA9/781]

Description Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a cell surface transmembrane protein, which is predominantly found in the gastrointestinal tract and gall bladder. The glandular regions of normal colon are reported to be negative, but in the case of adenocarcinoma, the glands are positive. CAIX is also reported to be expressed in common epithelial tumors such as carcinomas of the esophagus, lung, colon, kidney, cervix, and non-small cell lung carcinoma. In breast carcinomas, CAIX expression has been reported to be associated with malignant tissue. Expression of CAIX is reported to be absent in normal kidney, chromophobe carcinomas or oncocytomas, however, it is specifically expressed in clear cell renal carcinoma (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    CD205/LY75/gp200 [SPM487]

Description CD205, also named DEC-205, belongs to the macrophage mannose receptor family of C-type lectin endocytic receptors. CD205 is predominantly expressed by the thymic cortical epithelium and by dendritic cells (DC), but can also be detected at low levels in T and B lymphocytes and several other epithelial cell types. CD205 is a novel thymic epithelial marker that is important for the positive selection process of thymocytes. It is a sensitive and specific marker for thymoma, while the sensitivity to thymic carcinoma is lower than CD5 and CD117. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    Cytochrome C [7H8.2C12]

Description Electron carrier protein. The oxidized form of the cytochrome c heme group can accept an electron from the heme group of the cytochrome c1 subunit of cytochrome reductase. Cytochrome c then transfers this electron to the cytochrome oxidase complex, the final protein carrier in the mitochondrial electron-transport chain. Plays a role in apoptosis. Suppression of the anti-apoptotic members or activation of the pro-apoptotic members of the Bcl-2 family leads to altered mitochondrial membrane permeability resulting in release of cytochrome c into the cytosol. Binding of cytochrome c to Apaf-1 triggers the activation of caspase-9, which then accelerates apoptosis by activating other caspases. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)
