    HES1/ES1/c21orf33 [E5]

Description The Drosophila Hairy and enhancer of split genes encode basic helix-loophelix (bHLH) transcriptional repressors that function in the Notch signaling pathway and control segmentation and neural development during embryogenesis. The mammalian homolog of Drosophila Hairy and enhancer of split are the HES gene family members HES1-6, which also encode bHLH transcriptional repressors that regulate myogenesis and neurogenesis. The HES family members form a complex with TLE, the mammalian homolog of groucho, and this interaction is mediated by the carboxy-terminal WRPW motif of the HES proteins. The HES/TLE complex functions by directly binding to DNA instead of interfering with activator proteins. Most HES family members, including HES1 and HES5, preferentially bind to the N box (CACNAG) as opposed to the E box (CANNTG). HES1 and HES2 are expressed in a variety of adult and embryonic tissues. HIF-2 alpha/EPAS1 [190b]

Description Hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) is essential for the cellular response to hypoxia. Under normoxia conditions, the α subunit of HIF is ubiquitinated by von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) protein and is degraded in the ubiquitin/proteasome pathway. Hypoxia inhibits the degradation of the α subunit, which leads to its stabilization. HIF, in turn, regulates the transcription of a variety of genes that respond to hypoxia conditions. There are several isoforms of the HIF α subunit. Studies have found that HIF-1α and HIF-2α expression is increased in some human cancers. HIF-1α has both pro- and anti-proliferative activities, whereas HIF-2α does not possess anti-proliferative activity. Therefore, HIF-2α likely plays an important role in tumorigenesis. HLA-A (MHC I) [C6]

Description HLA-A, with HLA-B and HLA-C, belongs to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I antigens and expresses constitutively on all nucleated cells. MHC class I antigens play a role in class I MHC-associated antigen presentation, inhibition of NK cell cytotoxicity, tumor surveillance, and tissue allotransplantation. This antibody is useful for HLA molecular typing of peripheral blood leukocytes as well as a large number of leukemic cell lines. It reacts with an intralocus determinant present on a limited number of HLA-A locus-encoded gene products (HLA-A2, -A3, -A28, -A29, -A30, -A31 and -Aw33). Its epitope maps between aa65-to-aa80 of the 1 domain of the HLA-A. This antibody recognizes an intralocus determinant present on a limited number of HLA-A locus-encoded gene products (HLA-A2, -A3, A28, -A29, -A30, -A31 and -Aw33). Furthermore, by testing its reactivity with HLA-A2 natural variants and mutants, the importance of amino acid residues 79 and/or 80 of the α1 domain was demonstrated

    HPV 16 [CAMVIR-1]

Description The antibody reacts with a 56 kDa protein in cells infected with L1-vaccinia virus, the protein being present in a predominantly nuclear location. The antibody reacts very strongly with biopsy specimins containing HPV-16 or -33; very weak reactions were occasionally observed with biopsy specimens or smears containing HPV-6 or HPV-11. Cross-reacts with HPV37.L1 is a major capsid protein of type 16 human papilloma virus. Infection with specific types of HPV has been associated with an increased risk of developing cervical neoplasia. HPV types 6 and 11 have been associated with relatively benign diseases such as genital warts but types 16 and 18 are strongly associated with cervical, vaginal, and vulvar malignancies. HTLV-1 Tax [1A3]

Description The Human T-lymphotropic virus Type I (HTLV-1) is a human RNA retrovirus that causes T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) in adults and may also be involved in certain demyelinating diseases, including tropical spastic paraparesis. The HTLV-1 genome is diploid, composed of two copies of a single-stranded RNA virus whose genome is copied into a double-stranded DNA form that integrates into the host cell genome, at which point the virus is referred to as a provirus. The glycoproteins encoded by the env gene of HTLV-1 are essential for interaction with an unidentified receptor on the surface of target cells and play a crucial role in the infection process. Encoded by HTLV-1 Tax is a phospho-oncoprotein that functions as a transcriptional activator. Tax has the ability to modulate the expression and function of many cellular genes and has been crucial to understanding the HTLV-1-mediated transformation of cells. IDL/Intermediate density lipoprotein Polyclonal

Description Intermediate-density lipoproteins (IDLs) belong to the lipoprotein particle family and are formed from the degradation of very low-density lipoproteins. IDL is one of the five major groups of lipoproteins (chylomicrons, VLDL, IDL, LDL, HDL) that enable fats and cholesterol to move within the water-based solution of the bloodstream. Each native IDL particle consists of protein that encircles various lipids, enabling, as a water-soluble particle, these lipids to travel in the aqueous blood environment as part of the fat transport system within the body. Their size is, in general, 25 to 35 nm in diameter, and they contain primarily a range of triacylglycerols and cholesterol esters. They are cleared from the plasma into the liver by receptor-mediated endocytosis, or further degraded to form LDL particles. In general, IDL, somewhat similar to low-density lipoprotein (LDL), transports a variety of triglyceride fats and cholesterol and, like LDL, can also promote the growth of atheroma. (Sh

    INSM1 [A8]

Description Insulinoma-associated 1 or INSM1/IA1 is a zinc-finger transcription factor restrictedly expressed in pancreatic β-cells during early pancreas development. INSM1/IA1 regulates NeruoD1/β2 and insulin gene expression during β-cell maturation. INSM1 transcription factor, an important player in early embryonic neurogenesis, contributes to endocrine and neuroendocrine cell differentiation. INSM1 is expressed transiently in embryonic neuroendocrine (NE) tissue, thought to coordinate termination of cell division with differentiation of NE and neuroepithelial cells. In adult tissues, INSM1 has been identified in multiple tumors of NE or neuroepithelial origin and might be a potential neoplastic marker. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)
