    TAG-72/CA72.4 [B72.3]

Description Tumor-Associated Glycoprotein 72 (TAG-72) is an oncofetal mucin antigen expressed by normal secretory endometrium and most human adenocarcinomas, including colorectal, gastric, pancreatic, mammary, and ovarian. Antibody B72.3 recognizes a carbohydrate epitope identified as sialylated Tn antigen. This antigen is expressed by invasive ductal breast carcinomas, colon, pancreatic, gastric, esophageal, lung, ovarian and endometrial adenocarcinomas. It is not expressed by leukemias, lymphomas, sarcomas, mesotheliomas, melanomas, or benign tumors. This antigen is also expressed on normal secretory endometrium, but not on other normal tissues. TAG-72 expression in fetal tissue is only observed in tissues of the gastrointestinal tract, including the colon, esophagus and stomach. No reactivity is seen with tissue from other organ systems, including the lymphoreticular, cardiovascular, hepatic, pulmonary, neural, muscular, skin, endocrine and genitourinary tissues. Tartarate Resistant Acid Phosphatase (TRAcP/TRAP5) [9C5]

Description Tartrate resistant acid phosphatase (TRAcP) is a basic, iron-binding protein with high activity towards phosphoproteins, ATP and 4 nitrophenyl phosphate. Expression of TRAcP is reported to be increased in the spleen and monocytes of individuals with Gaucher’s disease, splenocytes and circulating white cells of individuals with hairy cell leukemia, spleens of individuals with Hodgkin disease, and the sera of individuals undergoing active bone turnover. Elevated levels are also reported to be associated with various B-cell and T-cell leukemias and lymphomas, placental decidual cells, syncytiotrophoblasts, and some macrophages distributed throughout maternal and embryonic tissues. The histochemical identification of hairy cell leukemia via tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase assay has been a standard for over two decades. Anti-TRAcP labels the cells of hairy cell leukemia (HCL) with a high degree of sensitivity and specificity. Worthy also of mention in this regard are anti-annexin A1 and

    Tau (4-repeat isoform RD4) [1E1/A6]

Description Tau is a microtubule-associated protein. In adult human brain, 6 tau isoforms are expressed, which are divided into two groups, 3-repeat (3R) and 4-repeat (4R) tau isoforms. Tau assembles into insoluble, filamentous, and hyperphosphorylated inclusions in many neurodegenerative diseases, and different tau isoforms are accumulated in the diseased brains, namely, 6 tau isoforms in AD, 3R tau isoforms in Pick’s disease, and 4R tau isoforms in PSP and CBD. Therfore, isoform-specific tau antibodies are useful tools for immunohistochemical and biochemical studies of tau species in diseased brains. Tau deposited in AD is extensively deamidated at N279. This anti-4R specifically recognizes 4R tau isoforms regardless of deamidation and strongly stained tau in AD brain. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)

    Tau [Tau13]

Description Tau is a heterogeneous microtubule-associated protein that promotes and stabilizes microtubule assembly, especially in axons. Six isoforms with different amino-terminal inserts and different numbers of tandem repeats near the carboxy-terminus have been identified, and tau is hyperphosphorylated at approximately 25 sites by ERK, GSK-3 and CDK5. Phosphorylation decreases the ability of tau to bind to microtubules. Neurofibrillary tangles are a major hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease and these tangles are bundles of paired helical filaments composed of hyperphosphorylated tau. In particular, phosphorylation of Ser396 by GSK-3 or CDK5 destabilizes microtubules in Alzheimer’s disease. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)
