Actin Muscle Specific [MSA/953]
Description This antibody recognizes all muscular actin isotypes. It labels myoepithelial, smooth muscle, skeletal, cardiac muscle cells and leiomyomas. It has been reported to react with pericytes and reactive myofibroblasts. Positive staining cells have been reported in some sarcomas, representing either myofibroblasts or pericytes components. Using this antibody with other myogenic markers such as smooth muscle a ctin, desmin and vimentin will be very helpful for differentiation of tumor from muscle origin. Description CD68 is expressed on macrophages and monocytes. KP -1 is important for identifying macrophages in tissue sections. It stains macrophages in a wide variety of human tissues, including Kupffer cells and macrophages in the red pulp of the spleen, in lamina propria of the gut, in lung alveoli, and in bone marrow. KP-1 reacts with myeloid precursors and peripheral blood granulocytes. It also reacts with plasmacytoid T cells which are supposed to be of monocyte/macrophage origin. Description Twenty human keratins are resolved with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis into acidic (pI <5.7) and basic (pI >6.0) subfamilies.
