Cadherin-6 is a member of the cadherin superfamily. Cadherins are membrane glycoproteins that mediate homophilic cell-cell adhesion and play critical roles in cell differentiation and morphogenesis. It is a type II cadherin and may play a role in kidney development as well as endometrium and placenta formation. Cadherin-6 is highly expressed in kidney and the central nervous system. It has been found to be related to fetal kidney development and has been identified as a major cadherin in renal proximal tubules where conventional renal cell carcinoma originates. The expression of Cadherin-6 is associated with tumor progression in renal cell carcinoma. (Shipping Cost: €200.00)
